Is Vista crashing?

That would depend on who you ask. There are those that say the operating system that was launched in January is prone to crash when working in conjunction with other programmes such as Windows Mobile. But on the other hand Microsoft has sold over sixty million licences for the system that cost the company over £3 billion to develop.

It is the retailers who are leading the revolt against Vista, by offering a free downgrade to Windows XP, and even Dell are offering this same solution to buyers. Retailers like PC World and Curry’s have to discount heavily computers that are pre loaded with Vista, because of the lack of sales. But this could also be down to other factors too, like interest rates etc.

Vista is already being compared with that other Microsoft failure, Windows ME. This is something that Microsoft need to avoid otherwise they could find themselves having to rethink the Vista strategy.
