Cheap laptops for children

Many people may have heard about the scheme where children who are under privileged or live in developing countries, it goes under the title of The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) scheme, but unlike before this newly launched scheme will be available in the EU too.

The scheme offers an XO Laptop and basically, how it works is simple, the OLPC will be utilising the huge resources of Amazon to run the “Give One, Get One” scheme. This is where a buyer purchases their computer and under the scheme, another is donated to a child in a developing nation.

The XO can be recognised by its green and white colour and will be going on sale in the UK for around £270, when the scheme was run in 2007 the organisation sold around 190,000, which means that the same amount went to a deserving school child.
