Just how many people respond to spam

There is still one thing that puzzles the tech world when it comes to spammers and that is why do they keep doing it, the motive was always to make money, but surely the spammers are still not making any cash.

Well you only have to check your inbox to see that the spammers are still out there and despite junk mail filters, some still get through.

A new piece of research has found that spammers are still making loads of cash and this is despite the fact that only one person replies in every twelve and half million spam emails sent out.

The most popular product is still herbal Viagra and pharmacy products. Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley and UC, San Diego (UCSD) duplicated spammer’s activities as an experiment, after sending out three hundred and fifty emails, they had twenty eight sales. If this result were compared to a spam network, they would be making around £2 million per year.
