Email and Text make you stupid

It seems that there is some research that is going around claiming that people who are prone to using text and emails are actually affecting their IQ, in fact the claims go so far to say that by using the computer or mobile phone for communicating regularly can actually affect your IQ more than if you were using marijuana.

Psychologists believe that when someone uses their computer or mobile phone this will knock around ten points off of their IQ. Whereas if they were using marijuana this is only credited to knocking four points off of an IQ and these are just the preliminary findings.

This phenomenon has been initially called “Infomania” by the British research team. This has been compared to being kept awake all night, in fact this problem would seem to affect men more than women and it is the fact that the communications used these days are always on, which means some people are in a constant state readiness to react to emails and texts.
